ADVANCED GAS TANKERS
A brief description is given of some of the major features of three typical advanced gas carriers developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., Korea. The first is a 4000 cu m fully pressurized vessel capable of loading, transporting and unloading LPG and VCM with a minimum service temperature of 0 degrees C. The second is a semipressurized and fully refrigerated type to transport liquid gases such as LPG, ammonia, propylene oxide and vinyl chloride monomer at temperatures down to -48 degrees C. The third is a semipressurized and fully refrigerated ethylene/LPG carrier suitable for carrying liquified ethylene, LPG, ammonia, PO and VCM at a minimum cargo temperature of -104 degrees C.
