ASPECTS OF DE WIT'S EQUATIONS GOVERNING THE APPARENT SPONTANEOUS YAW OF A SHIP
A mathematical analysis of the phenomenon of the apparent spontaneous yawing of a ship when undergoing combined rolling and pitching was published by C. de Wit. The purpose of this article is to concentrate on developing analytical solutions of the four simultaneous first-order nonlinear equations that de Wit developed to describe the apparent yawing motion.
