DUCTED PROPELLER. DETERMINATION OF STREAM LINES IN ROTATIONAL FLOWS
HELICE CARENEE. DETERMINATION DE LIGNES DE JETS DANS DES ECOULEMENTS ROTATIONNELS
The fundamental equation governing rotational subsonic flows through turbomachines or ducted propellers, within the framework of the actuator disk approximation, is a second order nonlinear partial differential equation. In the case of ducted propeller, the flow also contains a free surface downstream of the shroud. A method for the solution of the nonlinear equation and computation of the free surface is developed in this paper. The method needs no linearizing assumption. It was tested first on two-dimensional problems, and then applied to axisymetric flows. In French.
