ON THE SHAKEDOWN LIMIT OF A SHIP'S HULL GIRDER
A simple method for calculating the shakedown behavior of the hull girder of a ship or marine vehicle is presented herein. The requirements for shakedown demand allowable bending moments which are generally smaller than those necessary to "break the back of a ship."
