EFFECT OF POLYMERIC ADDITIVES ON DRAG REDUCTION
A study was made of the effect of a number of polymeric additives, their molecular weights and concentrations on drag reduction in the flow of aqueous solutions and suspensions. The results showed that the reduction in drag and in heat transfer increases with an increase in the rate of motion of the polymer solution and with an increase in the molecular weight of the polymeric additive.
