SHIP ELECTRIC FAN DIAGNOSTICS

Systems that monitor the performance and condition of ship main power plants are in use, but the problem of diagnosing auxiliary mechanisms and equipment is still being worked upon. There is therefore definite interest in the subject with which this article deals, namely, with ways and means of diagnosing trouble and failures in the centrifugal and axial electric fans so widely used in ship spaces.
