TREATING HEAVY FUEL OIL

Reprinting the author's presentation at the Marintech 87 conference, this article is intended to show how the installation of a fuel oil treatment system must be based on a good understanding of the properties of modern oils. It discusses separator performance and method of operation; pumping, storage and flow control; temperature control; and the cleaning system.
