RECENT DEVELOPMENT OF GAS INJECTION DIESEL ENGINES

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and MAN B&W Diesel A/S have been working jointly toward the development of a standard two- stroke, dual-fuel diesel engine with high pressure gas injection. This paper provides details on the design of the gas injection system and reports on the results of comprehensive combustion and durability tests of the new engine.
