NEW CONCEPT FIFTH WHEEL
The article describes a fifth-wheel coupling designed by Smallfry Ltd., which is claimed to overcome some of the problems associated with articulated vehicles such as jack-knifing, cab-nodding, kangaroo starts and overstressing of the transmission. The design is said to differ from conventional units in that it has a pivot point at ground level below the coupling rather than at the coupling itself. /TRRL/
