A queue-prevention-system is installed, which consists of A chain of measuring points and additional signals which are coupled together, on the highway NR 16 in the Netherlands. The system warns the traffic for disturbances of the normal traffic flow by means of indications for speed. In the case of stationary or very slow driving queues traffic signals are set in operation. The working of the system is presented. /TRRL/
