IGNITION PARAMETERS OF THE HYDROGEN ENGINE
A prototype hydrogen vehicle suffered from frequent random backfires which were traced to the ignition system. The following study was performed to identify the problem and to determine proper ignition system features for hydrogen engines. Problems identified include mutual induction between high voltage ignition cables and increased ionization potential of hydrogen engines.
