DIABETES AND DRIVING APTITUDE
DIABETS UND FAHRTUECHTIGKEIT
Despite the frequency of diabetes mellitus, the sugar disease and its complications and the side effects associated with its treatment only rarely affects driving aptitude. There is no call for a general ban on driving for diabetics, and discrimination against them on the roads has to be avoided. Diabetics involved in accidents have to be judged individually. There are guidelines on this published by the German government. The author discusses aspects of civil law involved in the judgment of diabetics. /TRRL/
