PROPELLER MANUFACTURE-PROPELLER MATERIALS-PROPELLER STRENGTH
The paper discusses the casting, molding materials, machinability, and alloying materials in the manufacture of propellers. Included are the fatigue properties, fatigue strength with respect to corrosion, the effect of cavities and grain structure, fracture and the use of various materials for propellers. The final section deals with the strength of propellers, including loading, damage and blade stress variations under different wake conditions.
