MONITORING AND CONTROL OF CATHODIC PROTECTION OF OFFSHORE STRUCTURES
Describes a system developed to monitor the cathodic protection of offshore structures, and like others, this system has two basic functions. First, it monitors the potential of the structure, which is the prime criterion of cathodic protection, and, second, it monitors the current that is used for the cathodic protection. The monitoring techniques for inshore and offshore structures, both manned and unmanned, and the subsequent control of the cathodic protection by hand operated systems via a technician and completely automatic systems are also described.
