HIGH ENERGY,NON-AQUEOUS LITHIUM BATTERIES
The further development and recent advances in the area of a stable, primary electrochemical battery system employing lithium anodes is described. The paper presents recent data covering a broad range of performance parameters including the effect of discharge rates, effect of temperature and of open circuit storage at room temperature, as well as at elevated temperatures. These results are discussed in terms of delivered capacity and energy density per unit weight and volume. The ELCALITH lithium battery system promises a 5 - 10 year shelf life. /GMRL/
