SHIP STRUCTURE DESIGN BASED ON SYNTHETIC EVALUATION OF WAVE LOADS, 2ND REPORT
A preceding report dealt with the accuracy of wave load estimation, focusing on phase differences between wave load components, on the development of a "DIScrete Analysis Method" (DISAM) based on 3-D FEM and on investigations of the structural response of the midship section of a double bottom in ocean waves. In this continuation, the investigation of the structural response of a double bottom is dealt with from a broader point of view, including consideration of differences in section shape between fore and aft parts and the midship section, and of the correlation between stress in different directions.
