COMMERCIAL TRAINING OF SNCF MANAGEMENT STAFF
The author, who is an Ingenieur Principal at the SNCF Commercial Department, states that, with its new structure, his Department can apply a more flexible, more competitive and therefore more effective commercial policy. This means that commercial management staff must have appropriate and continued training. He goes on to say that, according to the duties of these commercial or transport staff, where they come from, internal promotion, outside recruitment, different methods are adopted to train them; he explains the procedure in each case to impart knowledge of tariffs and regulations, the actual commercial requirements and the necessity of retraining.
