A FRACTURE MECHANIC'S APPROACH TO THE PROBLEM OF FRICTION AND WEAR
It is proposed that the application of fracture mechanics to the study of wear processes is both feasible and fruitful. Its use is demonstrated in explaining the complicated wear behaviour in the Ti-6A1-4V system.
