STUDY ON PRODUCTION CONTROL FOR TRAILING SUCTION HOPPER DREDGER
Although microprocessor technology has been applied to the automation of trailing suction hopper dredger operation, its utilization has been limited to sequential controls such as those that automate dragarm handling. A study was undertaken to find a new control strategy to increase productivity of the hopper dredger using process control approaches in the production control system. A process was developed to enable simulation of the production control system, and is described.
