TESTS ON ANCHORAGE CONNECTIONS IN PRESTRESSING REINFORCEMENT

ESSAIS RELATIFS AU "COUPLAGE" DES ANCRAGES D'ARMATURES DE PRECONTRAINTE

"Coupling" devices facilitate the joining of the anchorage systems of two prestressing reinforcements. Tests were carried out to determine whether they completely transfer the prestressing forces and which precautions should be taken to ensure that they do. Tests have shown that it is necessary to insulate the coupling devices although they do not need to be completely covered. It is sufficient to insert a deformable layer between the concrete and the extremity of the device on the side where prestressing is applied to ensure that the latter is transferred by the device. /TRRL/
