STUDIES ON THE EARLY OPENING OF CONCRETE ROADS TO TRAFFIC
UMTERSUCHUNGEN UEBER FRUEHZEITIGE VERKEHRSFREIGABE VON BETONFAHRABAHNEN
Concrete roads can be opened to traffic earlier than has been assumed hitherto. According to theoretical and practical studies bending tensile strengths of 12-34 kp/sq. Cm are sufficient depending on air temperatures and axle loads, and these can be attained after 1-4 days. However, if the road is opened so early it is absolutely essential that the surface is kept free of obstacles and that only rubber-tyred vehicles are allowed to use the road. /TRRL/
