MAGNETOVISION - AN AID AGAINST TRAFFIC NOISE
MAGMETOVISION - HJAELPMEDEL MOT TRAFIKBULLER
The composition and distribution of traffic noise is discussed. With the aid of an automatic drawing machine and a graphic picture screen noise becomes visible. Moving pictures of noise distributions can be presented and both equivalent and momentaneous noise levels can be shown on the screen. Requirements of a measure of noise level are discussed; it should be quantifiable, measurable and co-variate with degree of disturbance. Equivalence level is considered a good measure of experience of disturbance. The magnetovision technique has shown that it is possible from a quantitative point of view to take into consideration individuals' experiences of traffic disturbances, which is considered important for planning of highways and housing areas. /TRRL/
