ENVIRONMENTAL DATA COLLECTION ABOARD USCGC POLAR SEA 1985
Environmental and ship performance data were collected in the western Beaufort Sea aboard USCGC POLAR SEA during September and October, 1985. This was the tenth phase of a multiyear program to assess the feasibility of year-round commercial marine activities off the coast of Alaska. Volume 1 of this two-volume set of reports describes the measured ice and meteorological conditions during the deployment, and provides detailed descriptions of all on-ice measurement techniques. Volume 2 is an appendix to the main report and includes survey maps and ice floe cross section diagrams.
