TECHNOLOGICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONCRETE ON CONSTRUCTION SITES ACCORDING TO THE NEW CONCRETE CODE

The new German standard (Din 1045) only applies to close-textured concrete. The code covers all specifications relating to concrete technology, but does not include close-textured prestressed concrete and light-weight concrete. The revised specifications are based on the most recent technical knowledge and the present state-of-the-art. Important changes were necessary on account of the new concrete strength classes, new production methods for BI and BII concrete and the inclusion of the requirements to be met by concrete with special properties. The requirements for rust-proofing reinforcement elements and the specifications for concrete testing were extended on the basis of the knowledge available today. In future, only quality controlled base materials are allowed for the production of concrete. BII concrete is also subject to quality control on construction sites.
