SLURP SNATCHES SLICK
A new development in the field of anti-oil pollution devices has been made by Mr. Edward Betts. The SLURP (Self Levelling Unit for Removing Pollution) was developed for use in sheltered waters. The unit is small, light, inexpensive and can operate in relatively shallow water. The unit claims 100 percent oil collection at slow pumping rates. The unit automatically adjusts itself for varying water conditions and pumping rates. The small unit is presently available on the commercial market while work continues on the development of a unit that can be used at sea.
