THE UMIST DIGITAL TRAFFIC SIMULATOR
This article discusses the basic design philosophy and principle of operation of a hardware digital traffic simulator developed by the authors in the digital processes laboratory at UMIST. The simulator is capable of modelling a variety of complex area-networks. To illustrate its potential application a practical simulation case study involving an existing Liverpool area-network is discussed. /Author/TRRL/
