EFFICIENT PNEUMATIC STOWAGE BY MEANS OF MOBILE PIPING SYSTEMS PROVIDED WITH LATERAL DISCHARGES

Paper describes the results of testing on industrial scale of a system that has been developed in West Germany. Its purpose was to match the output of the pneumatic stowing with the advance rate of the longwall face. It has been ascertained that a combination of a powerful pneumatic stowing machine with mobile pipes provided with lateral discharges could supply stowage materials' volumes corresponding to a daily production of between 2000 and 2500 tons of coal from seams up to 3.5 m thick.
