CITY REQUIRES MAINTENANCE IMPACT STATEMENTS FOR NEW PROJECTS

The Maintenance Impact Policy and Statement were instituted in an effort to provide a basis for seeking and justifying befor the City Council the allocation of funds to provide maintenance services, thereby insuring that the total project or program cost is comprehended prior to implementation. The Statement is a brief declaration of the need and level of maintenance services for capital projects and program activities. It is also intended to provide practical suggestions concerning the possibility of project or program revisions to minimize the foreseen maintenance requirements and to provide advance notice to the Public Service Department. Projects which require the completion of such statements are listed. The responsibilities of the Public Service Department are reviewed. The content of the statement is outlined and case history is utilized to demonstrate the value of the impact statement.
