STUDIES UNDER REALISTIC CONDITIONS OF THE COURSE OF THE BLOOD-ALCOHOL CURVE IN THE FIRST 90 MINUTE AFTER THE END OF DRINKING
UNTERSUCHUNGEN UNTER LEBENSNAHEN BEDINGUNGEN UEBER DEN VERLA UF DER BLUTALKOHOLKURVE IN DEN ERSTEN 90 MINUTEN NACH TRINKE NDE
34 test subjects who had finished drinking after a self- determined period under realistic drinking conditions, and after their own choice of alcohol (spirits, beer, wine, champagne), each had four blood samples taken at intervals of 30 minutes in order to determine blood-alcohol content. In 9 of the 34 subjects the blood-alcohol concentration increased up to 90 minutes after the end of drinking. The reasons for this cannot be determined in individual cases. Reference is made to the consequences for establishing the drinking period/minimum blood-alcohol content. It is suggested that conventional subsequent calculation could be replaced by expert establishment and observation of the influence of alcohol at the time of drinking. /TRRL/
