DRIVING EXAMINATION AND MEDICAL EXAMINATION
L'EXAMEN DE CONDUITE ET L'EXAMEN MEDICAL
From the medical point of view the prevention of accidents is one of the most important parts of traffic medicine. The main part of this prevention is done by a medical examination of persons who have asked for a driving licence, and a periodical examination of drivers of certain categories of vehicles. In France two categories are clearly defined: drivers of cars and drivers of trucks and lorries. A description of the organisation of the medical service for the medical examination of drivers and specifications for such an examination in France are presented. The covering abstract for the conference is IRRD abstract no. 211714. /TRRL/
