THE GROWTH IN REGIONAL PASSENGER RAIL SERVICE (PANEL PRESENTATIONS AND DISCUSSION)
The growth and the new opportunities in regional commuter rail service throughout North America today are discussed by the panelists. One panelist examines the growth in regional passenger services at Metro North Commuter Railroad, New York. Another shares his experiences with the Virginia Railway Express in Northern Virginia, which just opened a new commuter line into Washington, D.C. Another discusses the system integration and extension project that New Jersey Transit is pursuing. The final panelist reviews Amtrak's nationwide rail passenger service.
