A NEW METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF PROPORTIONAL LIMIT AND MACHINE STIFFNESS
A new method for determining the proportional limit of engineering materials, characterized by maximum stress rate, is presented. Simultaneous measurement of stress rate and strain rate also permits a new means of measuring machine stiffness which has certain advantages over present techniques. /Author/
