QUALITY CONTROL OF BITUMINOUS BINDERS

CONTROL DE CALIDAD DE LOS LIGANTES BITUMINOSOS

This article discusses one part of the report on the quality control of bituminous binders presented to the directorate for the road network by the Argentinian association for highways. Guidelines are presented for organizing an efficient quality control system on the construction site or in the factory. Limits of responsibility at various levels (production, transport and laying) are defined, and details are given of the specifications to follow, tests to carry out, tolerances to apply, and penalties to impose if batches do not meet quality control requirements. /TRRL/
