FOUNDATIONS FOR SOME MAJOR CROSS-DRAINAGE WORKS ON THE NARMADA MAIN CANAL

The Narmada main canal, the largest canal in the world, crosses large rivers along its alignment. The foundations of the large structures at these crossings are described in this paper. The aqueducts covered are as follows: a) the Men Syphon aqueduct; b) the Ashwin Syphon aqueduct; c) the Unch Syphon aqueduct; d) the Orsang Aqueduct; e) the Kun Aqueduct; and f) the Mahi Aqueduct.
