BRITISH PRACTICE FOR GROUTING GRANULAR SOILS
In this discussion of Perrott's paper on British practice for grouting granular soils, Karol considers the use of the term grouting and the quality of the job. He suggests some engineering data which would be beneficial knowledge in grouting practice. The importance of set-time control is considered. Grant discusses grout treatment of saprolite soils in the east abutment at Brokopondo Dam and compares this with Perrott's work. He describes the leaching, effects of fractures, use of fly ash and bentonite, and the placement and drilling of the holes. Grant also discusses the primary, secondary and tertiary unit takes.
