INCREASE OF THE LOAD CAPACITY OF COPPER CONTACT WIRES
Creep-rupture tests have demonstrated an increase of thermal load capacity for a new low silver-alloyed electrolytic copper contact wire and for a conventional one. Mathematical-statistical analyses show a significant influence of the parameters tensile stress, temperature and rainfall on an increase of strength of the low silver- alloyed contact wire. The effects determined are advantageous to shiftable mine bench contact lines in future open-cast lignite mines with a maximum transportation of coal in direct-current locomotive haulage.
