ESTABLISHMENT OF DIRECTIONAL SCHEMES IN FRANCE
PLANEAMIENTO DE ESQUEMAS DIRECTORES EN FRANCIA
Directional schemes develop trends and long-term forecasts (twenty or thirty years). Details are given of the directional schemes for regional and town planning developed for urban areas exceeding 10000 inhabitants in France. A directional scheme consists of (1) a report analysing the problem under study and investigating the prospects of population growth; (2) an outline of the planning method selected and the reasons for the selection; and (3) a plan of the main stages of implementation of the scheme. Numerous graphic data are supplied with the report together with studies of traffic planning and transport problems, and problems of land use, zones for extension, open spaces, etc. /TRRL/
