MASS TRANSIT: ISSUES RELATED TO FISCAL YEAR 1995 APPROPRIATIONS. TESTIMONY
This is the statement of Barry T. Hill, Associate Director, Transportation Issues, Resources, Community, and Economic Development Division, General Accounting Office (GAO), before the Subcommittee on Transportation, Committee on Appropriations, House of Representatives, on issues affecting the federal government's investment in transit systems. The testimony focuses on the following three issues: (1) what changes have occurred in capital investment planning for transit, (2) what challenges face transit agencies as they implement the paratransit requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and (3) what issues surround the administration's proposal to reduce transit operating assistance.
