EFFECTS OF PETROLEUM ON ESTURINE BACTERIA
The impact of petroleum on ecologically important groups of bacteria in their natural environment have not been previously studied. This paper represents the first recorded investigation of such a study. The study concluded that there are measurable effects of oil on ecologically important bacterial groups, since the crude and refined oils employed in our work demonstrated a significant limiting effect on total viable numbers and probably the activity of these microorganisms.
