THE DR'S POINTS WITH PARABOLIC TONGUES

WEICHEN MIT PARABEIZUNGEN BEI DER DEUTSCHEN REICHSBAHN

Following details of the importance of the geometrical shape of the tongues of points on the standard of the working of the points, the author explains the principle of the parabolic tongue while pointing out that the length of the point structure remains unchanged. The advantage of parabolic tongues for points is the reduced level of wear and extended useful life. The DR will be using the new system for the points to be fitted with R 65 section rails.
