DECAYABLE FOAM TO GAS FREE SLOP TANKS
The problem of gas freeing fuel tanks, slop tanks, and cargo tanks on vessels has been in the past a detailed and time consuming task. In order to eliminate this problem a decayable foam gasified with an inert gas has been developed. This method of tank cleaning is claimed to be quicker, more convenient and cheaper than conventional methods. It combines the inert gas procedure and the foaming procedure into a single operation. The equipment used for the cleaning can be adapted for use either on land or at sea.
