THE FAILURE OF THE SOUTH PASS 70 PLATFORM B IN HURRICANE CAMILLE
This paper discusses the failure of Shell Oil Company's Platform B, offshore Mississippi, during Hurrican Camille. Data gathered include post-Camille survey of above-water damage at other platforms in the area, topographical surveys, side sonar runs, soil borings, and detailed diving and underwater television surveys of the fallen structure. The evidence shows that Platform B failed at the piling because of sea-floor soil movements. /Author/
