THERMIT WELD IN STERNFRAME CUTS COST AND COMPLEXITY
A description of a welding system, and how it was used in the repair of a ship, is presented. Preparations which were done to the vessel prior to the welding are discussed. The equipment, materials, and actual procedure that was followed during the course of the repair are also described. Some advantages which were gained by using this system, among them time and the cost of the repair, are also discussed, in the article.
