DIMENSIONLESS PARAMETERS FOR HOMOGENEOUS EARTH
Modified dimensionless parameters are developed for the effective stress analysis of homogeneous earth slopes. It is shown that the number of dimensionless variables considered in earlier investigations may be reduced, resulting in a considerable savings in computation. New stability charts have been constructed from existing data. Using these or similar charts, the practicing engineer may more easily obtain stability solutions for a wider range of problems than was formerly possible. Methods of analysis are advanced to deal with complex pore-pressure distribution. /AUTHOR/
