DYNAMIC MOORING AND FENDERING SYSTEMS
This paper describes a new approach to the problem of docking and mooring ships. This system utilizes momentum transfer between relatively high pressure stream of water and the sea to draw the tanker to the docking facility and hold it there during the loading operation. The system can either partially or wholly eliminate the requirement for tugs and mooring line depending upon the design basis.
