TRANSPORTATION ATLAS OF THE SOUTHWEST
This atlas which covers the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas and consists of maps, charts and tables, was prepared as part of an inventory and evaluation of transportation facilities, services, and practices in the Southwest. The basic map was developed from a map published by the U.S. Geological Survey and constructed on the Albers equal-area projection. Transportation reference guides were used in the development of the maps and charts which cover air, highway, rail, water and other transportation. The criterion for showing service to a particular standard metropolitan statistical area (SMSA) by a carrier, was the provision of service to one or more of the cities contained in the SMSA by that carrier.
