THE HYDRAULIC PROPERTIES OF GEOSYNTHETIC PRODUCTS
This article describes the methods used for testing the hydraulic properties of geosynthetic materials. Brief details are provided the determination of: a) pore size of the geotextiles; b) water f through geotextile; and c) water flow along geotextiles. The pro encountered when running the tests are outlined. The need for ind tests is discussed briefly. Tests are required to evaluate the following properties: a) transmissivity; b) permittivity; and c) size. The test design required for each type of test is discusse briefly, as are any problems associated with them.
