RUBBER-LINED PUMP INNOVATION: A COST SAVER
To fullfill the important hydraulic pump requirements of minimum of wear, quick replacement, and moderate cost, Uredestein Bekledingstechnieken N.V. has developed a pump which is lined with a replaceable rubber lining. This lining has an abrasion resistance as much as 50 times higher than steel and 88 times higher than grey iron. Specially trained technicians are not needed to replace the lining or repair the pump, and the casing can be replaced in as little as three hours. One outer casing can be depreciated over ten or more linings reducing the cost of the pump to only a fraction of that for a steel pump casing without the rubber liner. Thus, pump costs for dredging operations can be drastically reduced. This same process can be applied to discharge lines, bends, valves, and other parts of a dredging system.
