INTERINDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES IN DYNAMIC AND STATIC CONTRAST SENSITIVITY
This study concerns the interindividual relation between static and dynamic contrast sensitivity. The purpose was to examine if static tests could be used to predict interindividual differences in contrast sensitivity and also in a dynamic situation. The relations between the static contrast sensitivity and contrast sensitivity in different kinds of dynamic situations relevant for night driving were studied in four experiments. Correlations about 0.8 - 0.9 were obtained when the level of illumination was low. It was concluded that static tests could give relevant information also about interindividual differences in dynamic situations similar to those of night driving at least at lower levels of illumination.
