DEVELOPMENT OF BI-PRESTRESSING SYSTEM IN JAPAN
This short article describes the development of the bi- prestressing system in Japan, which enables bridges to be built with slenderer beams. The concept of the bi-prestressing system is described first, followed by a short summary of data about Japanese bridges which use the bi- prestressing system. The types of high strength steel bar used in the system are then described, as is the anchorage system developed for this bar. The French title of this article is: Developpement de systeme de precontrainte double au Japon. The German title of this article is: Entwicklung der kombinierten Zug/Druck- Vorspannung in Japan. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 851274.
